Rodrigo Gracie Interview Post Pride 19 from PrideFC.com

PRIDE Fighting Championships: What do you think now that the fight is over?

Rodrigo Gracie: I'm incredibly happy that I won. Matsui is a really tough fighter.

PRIDE: This was your second Vale Tudo experience. Were you nervous?

Gracie: I was definitely nervous before I can to the ring but once the entrance song started playing, all that nervousness disappeared.

PRIDE: Did you choose that song yourself?

Gracie: Yeah, when I was a kid in Brazil I used to watch Change-Man a lot.

PRIDE: Were you able to accomplish what you wanted to?

Gracie: Yes. I was able to use everything that Renzo and I worked on.

PRIDE: What kind of advice did you get from Renzo?

Gracie: During the fight, Renzo was yelling stuff like "Fake a tackle!" or when I had the choke in "Use your other hand too!" He told me "Just calm down. If you fight without getting frustrated, everything we've worked on will come out. Just calm down and listen to my advice and you'll definitely win."

PRIDE: You were swept by Matsui. Did that surprise you?

Gracie: No, I would have been a little surprised if I hadn't been swept from that position.

PRIDE: Did you ever feel in danger?

Gracie: When Matsui stood up, I took several punches. I thought it was dangerous then.

PRIDE: What's your plan from here?

Gracie: I'd like to fight at PRIDE again if I get an offer.

PRIDE: Would you like to fight Sakuraba?

Gracie: I'll fight anyone.

PRIDE: Who does your personality resemble in your family?
Gracie: Well…..probably a lot like Ryan! (laughing)
